Lead Programmer (Game Development)

New Zealand


Senior Level

As the Lead Programmer, you will collaborate (mostly remotely) with the design team and oversee junior programmers. Once games are live you will be responsible for testing, analysis, and reporting of game metrics, and working with the design team to implement changes that maximise stakeholder satisfaction, player retention and spend.

This role requires you to combine existing knowledge of free to play mobile game systems, with new knowledge of blockchain/blockchain economic design, to plan game systems and app architecture that enhances player experience

About you

You will be a Programmer who has 2+ years of industry experience as a systems programmer for a released mobile application. You will have proven analytical and problem-solving skills and work well under pressure. The team work remotely, so it is essential that you have strong organisational skills, ability to focus on priorities, manage change and deliver against agreed deadlines. You will enjoy taking on new projects and be prepared to problem solve and be creative when it comes to new solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mobile games and be willing to push the boundaries in a fast-paced environment.

Skills required:

  • Experience in managing the connection between mobile applications to Amazon Web Services

  • Unity 3D mobile development for iOS and Android

  • Good working knowledge of C/C++

  • Great communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Experience in cybersecurity or working with web service providers such as ledger or blockchain on providing secure account data and/or transaction features

  • Planning and risk management experience

This is a 12-month, fixed-term, full-time position with the possibility of the role being made permanent. Must be currently living in New Zealand and have the right to work in New Zealand. Immediate start.
