AHI KAA RANGERS

Papatūānuku needs you...

A women wearing a purple hooded jumper sitting on a large tree branch with a mobile tablet in her hand. She is looking at the device she is holding. The device is pointing to the ground. She is surrounded by rocks, green grass and flax plants. She is outside.

Ahi Kaa Rangers is a mobile app game that combines environmental science and indigenous knowledge. As an Ahi Kaa Ranger you need to take care of a living world, just like the Kaitaiki [Guardian] of Aotearoa [New Zealand] care for Papatūānuku [mother earth].

You care for your living world by earning resources in the game. This can be done by moving and breeding creatures in your world or by helping other players. But to really get ahead and earn bonuses, you should complete a real-life citizen science mission.

By playing the Ahi Kaa Rangers game and completing citizen science missions, you're contributing to real world climate change research that is taking place all over the world.
